9th Jan | Break Something Every Day

A bottle of V

It was raining outside so this was quick.

Trying to speed up the upload process by finding a good compression format. Thought to try Xvid which is awesome.

Anyway. Short and sweet.

Jan 6th, 7th and 8th | Break Something Every Day

So this is just the continuation of the scanner day.

A CD, a sound card and an egg.

When I try and break that egg, seriously, that was me actually trying to break it. Things do not like to break.

Maybe I’ve seen too many movies when chairs get broken on people, and cars go through fences, it’s ruined my sense of… hard things.

I’ve been camping this weekend and had no reception at all, let alone internet. So you get all these at once.

Enjoy.

From the scanner attack.

I’m guessing this was from me slapping the scanner hood with this end.

What the fuck.

The scanner glass doesn’t break, but the hammer does?

Am I in opposite land when I do this shit?

Jan 5th | Break Something Every Day

Today was the annihilation of the scanner I tried to fix but ended up trapping hair inside it so everything I scanned looked hairy.

So with myself, and my trusty sidekick in destruction, Clare took part in the event of sending it to its bed. (That’s a joke because scanners have beds… Har har har…)

The first hammer whack to the bare scanner glass (see in the video) was surprisingly unsuccessful…

Doing this breaking thing, I am learning either 2 of the following:

A: I suck at breaking things

or B: things are harder to break than they look.

Seriously though, hitting a pane of glass (with air under it mind you) with a hammer SHOULD BREAK THE GLASS! Hammers hurt!

We broke 4 things today (5 if you include the brick. RIP Mr. Brick. You proved faithful for a while.) (Or 6 if you include the brick and the hammer. I’ll post a photo of what the hammer looks like now) because I doubt I’d be able to break something every day. But instead break something FOR EVERY DAY in the year. So tomorrow you see the next one, and so on.

That’s how TV game-shows do it. Sorry to spoil the illusion.

4th Jan | Break Something Every Day

So I looked it up, and because this year is a leap year, I’m going to have to break 366 things this year. Oh no. Don’t care.

Anyway, this is me destroying a game controller. It was the worst piece of shit controller ever to be used. When I killed it, it had 2 metal ball-bearings (how do you spell that?) in it that, from what I could tell, were not used at all. Were they jsut to make it heavier? If so WHY?!

This shit needed to die. And my friend The Brick helped out. What I would of done without my friend The Brick, I don’t know.

This time in the video I added sexy slow motion replays of the destruction, and actually sat the camera down so you could see things without it looking like someone with Parkinson’s disease riding on a mechanical drill was holding the camera.

3rd Jan | Break Something Every Day

So yesterday I decided to recycle an empty bottle of Wild Turkey American Honey. (AKA: Get drunk and diabetes at the same time!). I recycled it with the concrete ground.

Anyway, I’m sort of still playing around with the video quality / way to film things. This and the last one turned out to a bit shaky and hard to watch so I might try another method of filming for the next one.

But enjoy anyway. I particularly like the second smash. Mmmmmmmmm….

Does anyone else find smashing things very satisfying?

This is the photoset mentioned before.

The “Break Something Every Day” for 1st Jan is in there somewhere.

1st & 2nd Jan | Break Something Every Day

1st Jan: Light Bulb

So day 1 was a light bulb. I didn’t record it but you can see it smashed on the ground in the DVD drive video.

To top it off the day after the DVD drive video I smashed about 50 light bulbs just to record the sound effects. I could count those as 50 days of the year, but I’m not a dickhead. I’ll post a photoset of the smashed bulbs soon.

2nd Jan: DVD Drive

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mh16IGZv7AU

This was actually hard to break. LG must be a good brand or something? Pretty sure that DVD drive as long dead though. I hope it was anyway…………………..

I’m going to destroy everything

What?

Yeah, I’m going to try and make this quick because I hate reading. And so do you.

I was at the pub with friends and I broke a pint glass. (trying to drink it with no hands apparently?) And I told them all that “it’s a tradition to break something every time I go out” which is almost true… But not quite. It was just to be funny. So I thought about it and then realised breaking things is quite fun.

So accidentally (on purpose) I made a new year’s revolution (or is it resolution? I don’t know but I am resulting something? I am bad at sentences. I’ll just say NYR) to “break” something every day for the whole year. And film it / post photos of it… I made lots of NYR actually. THIS is just something I’d like to do.

It’s going to be effort.

I mean, I won’t post things every day, that would be hard. But I’ll still try and break something every day and play catch up. Or at least break 365 things by the end of the year.

So far I have:

1st Jan: Light bulb

2nd Jan: DVD ROM Drive from my computer. (With a brick)

3rd Jan: Empty Wild Turkey American Honey bottle

Not that exciting so far, but I promise I’ll make it more interesting later on in the year.

This may be a dumb idea…

Okay, it is a dumb idea…

Photos and videos coming at some point.

That wasn’t quick, Jimmy.

Shut up.

I’m normal by the way.
